FX LAB
how to bend a signal
FX Lab is not a sequencer.
It doesn’t move forward in steps.
It exists in space.
When the interface loads, nothing is broken and nothing is missing.
The system is silent because it is waiting for direction.

At the center of the interface is the XY Field.
This is not a controller — it’s a territory.
Drag the handle.
Left to right changes frequency
Up and down changes distortion
There are no boundaries here, only pressure.
Small movements create subtle shifts.
Fast movements create instability.
This is how you touch the signal.
Break control
Activate CHAOS MODE.
The system starts moving on its own, jumping through the XY field.
You’re no longer guiding the signal, you’re observing it.
Chaos mode is not random noise.
It is accelerated decision-making.
If you don’t like where it goes, disable it and take control back.
Decide if the system listens to you
Press START_ENGINE.
The oscillator activates and the signal begins to breathe.
What you hear now is a continuous tone shaped by position, distortion, and space.
Nothing loops.
Nothing repeats unless you stay still.
Give the signal atmosphere
In ATMOSPHERE_FX, you decide how the signal exists in space.
SPACE (Reverb)
Adds distance, memory, and decay.CRUSH (Bit Depth)
Reduces resolution and introduces texture.
High clarity feels modern.
Low resolution feels raw and unstable.
There is no clean signal here — only intention.
Transmit meaning
In the MORSE ENCODER, type a short message.
This is not metadata.
This is not a label.
The text is translated into pulses and bursts, injected directly into the signal path.
Your message becomes sound.
When you press TRANSMIT_SIGNAL, the system speaks for you.
Final note
FX Lab is not about polish.
It’s about pressure.
You don’t design sounds here.
You stress a signal until it reveals character.
Nothing is saved unless you record it.
Nothing is repeated unless you repeat yourself.
This is a laboratory, not a library.
Add time
Enable the PULSE CLOCK.
The signal now breathes in rhythm.
Adjust the BPM to decide how often it appears and disappears.
Slow pulses feel deliberate.
Fast pulses feel urgent.
This is how a continuous sound becomes a message.
Capture the moment
Press [ REC ].
What you record is not an effect preset
it’s a state of the system.
The XY position, the distortion curve, the pulse timing, the morse transmission
everything is captured exactly as it happened.
When the recording stops, the system gives you a file.
That file is proof the interaction existed.
