Neon Piano is not a simulator. It’s not trying to replace a real instrument.
It’s a signal keyboard.
When the page loads, everything is silent. That silence is intentional. The system is waiting for permission.

Understand the keys
In front of you is a two-octave keyboard. White keys are notes. black keys are tension. Each key is mapped twice:

Low octave lives on Z to M.
High octave lives on Q to U.
This mapping is physical, not linguistic.
It works the same on QWERTY and AZERTY keyboards.
Shape the instrument
Above the keyboard is the control rack.
This is where the piano becomes yours.
Oscillator chooses the waveform
Attack decides how fast sound appears
Release decides how long it stays
Filter removes or reveals brightness
Then come the character controls:
Detune creates width and instability
Delay creates echoes
Reverb creates space
You are not changing presets.
You are redefining the instrument while playing it.
Capture the moment
Press REC.
From this moment on, everything you play is recorded:
keys, effects, timing, imperfections.
There is no undo.
No quantization.
No correction.
When you stop recording, the system offers you the file.
Choose WAV for purity.
Choose MP3 for portability.
That recording exists because you played it.
Play, don’t preload
There is no sequencer here.
No grid.
No automation.
Sound only exists while you are touching it.
Press a key.
The note is created.
Release it.
The note dissolves.
This is real-time synthesis, not playback.
Break predictability
Press RANDOMIZE.
The system reshapes itself:
new waveforms, new envelopes, new space.
The keyboard stays the same.
The identity changes.
If you don’t like the result, randomize again.
Nothing is lost.
Play with intent
Neon Piano rewards touch.
Short notes feel sharp.
Long notes feel cinematic.
Detuned stacks feel alive.
Because each note uses multiple oscillators,
small changes feel big.
This is not about speed.
It’s about presence.
